"Hue" - 5/5 - June '09, Updated: August '09
Featured in 2010 Michigan Youth Art's Festival commencement show, Community High's 2010 Graduation. Finalist at FOCIFF 2010.
While a lonely girl is drawing in the park, she looks up to see a stranger approaching her. The stranger presents the girl, Jade, with a brightly-colored package—upon opening it, she finds a ray of hope, which spreads color throughout her life. Realizing the magic she holds in her hands, she finds the closest person to transfer the gift to. Upon receiving the gift, that boy is also filled with color and passes it on. The gift continues its journey around the world until it makes full-circle back to Jade. She turns around and is surprised to find the stranger, Hue, who’d given her the gift many years ago. With a smile on her face, she presents the gift back to him. This simple exchanging of a gift—kindness—can spread life and color throughout a world. "Crabs" - 4/5 - November '08
"Best of Show" Winner at the 2009 Michigan Student Film & Video Festival, Presented by DAFT at the DIA. Shown at the 2009 Michigan Youth Art's Festical. Finalist at FOCIFF 2009.
Every year the Claymating crabs come out of the ocean to "play". After the initial matching there is an imbalance in numbers of each sex and the remaining two male crabs must fight to win their prize. When the battle is won, another female crab comes out of the sea. She too rejects the losing crab, instead going after the victor. Thus she starts the "playing" rituals again, only this time the fighting is between the two females instead. Animated first in clay, the computer generated background and scenery were later add to make a breath, and depth, of stage that would not be possible on an actual set.
"Mi Vecino, El Hombre Tonto" - 2/5 - August '08
When a man moves into his new house he finds his neighbor blocking the entrance. Irritated the man shoves his way his neighbor and spends the remainder of the day moving into his new hosue. The next day strange and unexplainable things start to happen... A bed that dissapears while is being slept upon, an unbreakable egg, faucets turning themselves on and off. This was written and then filmed spanish as a final for a class.
